Using the Site
You do not need an account, and we do not ask for your name. The price guide, the calculators and the free legal forms work inside your own browser:
- What you type into a form or a calculator stays on your device. It is not sent to us.
- The free legal forms keep what you type in your browser, so you can come back later and finish. Pressing Clear on the form erases it. On a shared phone or computer, press Clear when you are done.
- Some pages remember small things in your browser, such as the steps you ticked on a checklist, or that you already saw our note about ads. This stays on your device, and you can clear it in your browser settings.
- If you install the site as an app, your browser keeps copies of the pages you open so they work without a signal. They are pages of this site, not anything you typed.
We do not use analytics or tracking tools of our own, and we never sell or rent information about our visitors.
When You Tell Us What You Paid
The "What did you pay?" form asks for the document, the kind of service, the place, the amount and the month. It does not ask for your name, your email or the notary's name.
- We use the reports only to work out the usual price in each place. We publish a price for a place only after at least 5 people have reported it, and we never publish a single report.
- The form is handled by Netlify, the company that hosts this site, which stores the reports for us. Netlify is based in the United States, so the reports are stored on servers outside the Philippines.
- We keep each report for 2 years, the period our price totals cover, and then delete it.
Ads
The site is free because it shows a few ads, served by an ad network called Adsterra. We choose where the ads go; the ad network chooses which ads appear.
When an ad loads, Adsterra and its advertisers may receive your IP address and information about your device and browser, and may use cookies or similar tools to show ads, count them and prevent fraud. We do not control this. Adsterra's own privacy policy explains what it does. You can limit it with your browser's privacy settings or an ad blocker.
Other Services the Site Uses
- Netlify hosts the site. Like any web host, it keeps basic server records, such as IP addresses and the pages requested, to run the service and keep it secure.
- Google Fonts provides the site's lettering. Your browser downloads the fonts from Google, which receives your IP address when it does.
Links to government offices and other websites take you to their sites, where their own privacy policies apply.
Your Rights
Under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173), you can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it. You can also complain to the National Privacy Commission.
Changes
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and its date.
